Bruce Alan Wilson

Bruce Alan Wilson,69, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at his residence.Bruce was born in Normal, IL and he was a lifelong resident of Gridley, IL, Bloomington IL, and retired to Church Hill, TN with his wife.He spent most of his life working with automobiles. He enjoyed racing and, along with a friend, he built a race car.Bruce owned Wilson Amoco in Gridley, IL, worked at NAPA in Pontiac, and he was a longtime employee of Mitsubishi Motors of North American in Normal, IL.Nothing could surpass his love and passion for his 1976 Harley Davidson Super Glide that he purchased as a teenager and rode continuously into his fifties until he could no longer ride safely.Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Carthol Boyd Wilson and Ruth Ann Herrington Wilson; sister-in-law, Sue Wilson; brother-in-law, Daniel Hinton; and in-laws, Leo and Margaret Hale Hinton.Those left to cherish Bruce’s memory are his wife, Cynthia (Cyndi) Wilson of Church Hill, TN; son, Russell (Tabitha) Wilson of Fairbury, IL; stepchildren, Alice (Billy) Thacker of Church Hill, TN and Charles Clark Jr. (Lisa) of Church Hill, TN; grandchildren, Wesley and Timothy Wilson, Chase White and Aubree Clark; siblings, Julie Swope, Laurie (Scott) Herlickman, Brian Wilson, Megan (Paul) Thimmig; Steve (Diane) Wilson; his Australian sister, Cathy (David) Boyce; in-laws, Gail Seward, Cheryl Hinton and Chris Hinton; and many nieces and nephews.Family and friends will gather at a later date for a Celebration of Life and burial at Gridley Cemetery in Gridley, IL.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bruce’s memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation by visiting, www.kidney.orgThe care of Bruce Alan Wilson and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
