Joseph Massey

Joseph William Massey, 74, of Mount Carmel, TN went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 10, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.He was born December 19, 1949, in Kingsport, to the late Joseph and Lillian Frazier Massey.Joe was smart, a hard worker, a great provider, and could fix anything.He was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and worked at Eastman Chemical Company for thirty-one years in the Organic and Ketones Departments.Joe loved sports and coached girls’ soccer in Kingsport for many years.He was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church.Those left to cherish Joe’s memory are his loving and devoted wife, Sharon Massey; daughter, Kimberly Massey Barnett (Damon); granddaughter, Hannah Quillin (Preston); sister, Doris Russell (Phil).The family will receive friends Thursday, March 14, 2024, 5:00-6:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.A Memorial Service will begin at 6:00 pm with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating.The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Amedisys Hospice, especially Amanda Bradley and Teresa Phelps for the compassionate care they gave Joe.To share memories and condolences with the family please visit www.oakhillfh.comThe care of Joseph William Massey and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.Read Obituary
