Rose Rushing

Rose Ellen Rushing, 99, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Friday, February 16, 2024.She was born in Osaka, VA and had lived in Kingsport most of her life.Mrs. Rushing graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1943.She was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church where she was active for many years with the Senior Adult Ministry.Mrs. Rushing was owner/operator of the Charm Box Beauty Salons.She enjoyed camping, traveling, sewing, making candy and loved spending time with her family.Mrs. Rushing was preceded in death by her husband, John Rushing, Sr.; parents, Harrison and Rena Johnson Barrett; infant grandchildren, Christina and Laura Davis; twin sister, Della Ray Barrett and brother, Alfonso Palmer Barrett.Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Elizabeth Ann Rushing Baldwin (Dave) and Brenda Davis (Mike); son, John Rushing, Jr. (Sherrye); grandchildren, Fara Childers, Joshua Childers (Paula), Darren Davis, Emilee Davis, Clemmie Taylor, Maelee Taylor and Greyson Rushing; great grandchildren, Connor Childers, Stella Childers, Sequoia Childers, Jonah Childers, Noelle Davis, Elijah Gordon, Dixie Pickle, Darby Pickle; numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Indian Springs Baptist Church, 325 Hill Rd, Kingsport, TN 37664.A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Aaron Rayburn and Pastor Tom Schoeneck officiating. Tom and Sandy Allen, and the Dishner family will provide the music.An Entombment Committal Service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Chapel Mausoleum. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Those attending the Committal Service are asked to meet at the mausoleum at 12:50 pm.Read Obituary
