Sarah Faye VonCanon Sams got her wish to go to Heaven on Sunday, February 18, 2024.Sarah was born in Banner Elk, NC on September 1, 1947, and grew up in Kingsport, TN.She was active in her husband’s ministries in Indiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Illinois.They ministered with the First Christian Church of Kingsport for 15 years.Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, John, and Geneva VonCanon.Those left to cherish Sarah’s memory are her husband of 56 years, Phip Sams; children, Larry Sams (Megan) and Genilyn McCaffrey (Adam); four grandchildren, Molly Sams, Zach McCaffrey, Caroline Sams, and Campbell McCaffrey.The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Friday, February 23, 2024, at First Christian Church of Kingsport.A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm with her children, Minister Larry Sams and Dr. Genilyn McCaffrey officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 106 E.
